Founded in 2003, Contabo has quickly established itself as one of the leading providers of VPS and Dedicated Servers hosting over 70,000 customers in 179 countries.
We offer them at an unbeatable price point. The minimum contract period for our best-selling products is only one month, making them very competitive for both newcomers and professionals who run an established business and are looking for a great price-performance ratio for their server hardware.
Microsoft Azure, Google Cloud, Digital Ocean, Vultr, Linode and in the end I decided to stay with Contabo because of their competitive pricing, good customer service and easy installation.
In this article we will see how to buy a VPS server and how to configure it.
1. We go to virtual private servers (enlace)
Select the plan, depending on your hardware needs.
- Select your billing time (monthly, quarterly, semi-annual, annual).
Contabo charges a setup fee excluding annual billing.
Select the location of the data center, for some regions it may have an additional cost so ideally select Germany and use a CDN such as Cloudflare.
At this point you select the type of storage which can be SSD or NVMe hard disk (4th generation, 10x faster than SSD).
Choose the operating system of the VPS. It has to be related to your objectives, what do you want a VPS for? For example, if you need it for WordPress you can use Ubuntu or CentOS.
The following options are left as default. You do not need to contract SSL because you can get it for free by installing Cyber Panel or using Cloudflare.
7. To finish we give the following, we fill the invoicing data and ready.
When your VPS is configured, your server data will be sent to your mailbox.
